About this wine
70% OFF 94 POINT Napa Cab?! ANGLES, not angels. Math, science, and sacred geometry — not faith and fantasy. Normally, that’s completely out of my comfort zone, but one glass of this, and I’m like Rainman counting toothpicks! It just clicks! I absolutely BUZZSAWED through a glass of this classy, richly layered, and quintessentially concentrated BEAUTY of single vineyard Napa Cab — and at OVER $90 OFF — you’re gonna want some!!! Two words…Jericho Canyon. That culty phenomenon of Napa wine that has made the canyons of Calistoga’s eastern hills some of the hottest real estate for artisan, high-end, tippy-top shelf Napa Cabs. That’s the utterly PRISTINE vineyard where this unheralded, 94 POINT Angles RESERVE Cab was born. It’s also where winemaker and proprietor Nicholas Bleecher was born, too. Nick’s the youngest of three, born to Marla and Dale Bleecher – who started Jericho Canyon back in 1989. Nick grew up amongst the vines, working at least 3 hours a day in the vineyard almost as soon as he was able to walk. After cutting his teeth at one of Napa’s most idyllic properties, he left to study winemaking in college, and tour the world’s top wine regions, before returning as the prodigal son to take his place on the Jericho Canyon crew alongside such legends as Aaron Pott and Michel Rolland!!! He’s been Jericho Canyon’s winemaker since 2015, and ten years working with Michel Rolland is the sort of pedigree you can TASTE!!! Surely, this is one of the most romantic child labor stories since Dickens? Ok, I digress…THE WINE! It’s Marion Cotillard-level GORGEOUS — crafted of precise and pristine proportions, with the smolder and strength of a caged tiger. Floral notes of lavender, lilacs, and deep, red roses, followed by whispers of dusty blueberries, and vanilla beans — all delightfully intoxicating and seamlessly balanced. Once it hits the tongue, an explosion of blackberries, plum tarts, black cherry cola, and toasted walnuts, with a fine, gravel-y minerality, and this chalky, ultra-fine grip of intense beefiness! WOWZA! You saw the 94 POINTS, right? And you like saving a full 70% OFF the winery retail, right? Welp, the time is now to snag the last of what’s left…so whatever are you waiting for?? Going…going…GONZO!
