About this wine
The Alberto Voerzio La Serra didn’t just sell out - it vanished in a blink. Blink-and-you-miss-it kind of wine! But don’t panic… coming up next is a 98-point Brunello from Casanova di Neri—big, bold, and ready to steal the spotlight. Get your glasses (and fast fingers) ready, because this one’s about to cause some serious excitement. RIPLE 98 POINTS in da house!!! If you’ve been paying attention – Casanova di Neri has LANDED…in a big way here at Last Bottle HQ, and each new wine we offer keeps getting better and better! Enter GIOVANNI NERI, good people! This single CRU, newest addition to the family, hits harder than Mike Tyson in his prime, yet somehow oozes elegance like Grace Kelly. I’m stunned. I mean, 50+ year-old vines. An ancient, utterly wild vineyard, in the heart of the Montalcino’s Castelnuovo dell'Abate that has only been under the stewardship of Giovanni and Gianlorenzo Neri since 2018 – yet has already CATAPULTED to the very top of a portfolio – one that was already the upper echelon in all of Montalcino. This estate crafted the very first Brunello to earn Wine Spectator’s coveted #1 of the year award, and the accolades have only swollen from there. A handful of 100-point scores, and widespread critical fame (and rabid collectors a-plenty) have all combined to make this one of Tuscany’s most highly sought-after wineries, and this third-ever release of their Giovani Neri cru…just…DANG! Pure, entrancing, simply undeniable aromas of dusty rose, black truffles, lavender, and terra cotta clay dazzle you straight out of the bottle, with a transcendental first sip that reveals raspberries, red currants, Queen Anne cherries, and blood orange – all perfectly and pristinely intermingled with spice accents of white pepper, sage, and star anise. A little bit of whole-cluster magic gives this a wild, distinctly Italian intensity – but the prettiness perseveres, and expands, as this complex and layered beauty shines brighter and brighter until it almost burns! We have this for over $100 OFF the retail price – and we’re doing FREE SHIPPING on every order – but I get it…it ain’t cheap. But there are expensive wines that don’t live up to the hype, and there are ones that shake you to your very core…and this is most certainly the latter! TRIPLE 98 POINTS – and that is only a small part of the story… This is, without question, one of the greatest young Brunellos I’ve yet tasted – and despite my decades of experience – I can scarcely comprehend the staggering heights that await this in the years to come! Drink now or 30 years from now, and touch the heavens. ONLY 75 CASES were imported to the USA – and we took every last bottle we could. If you can get one, you MUST…if you can snag two, lucky YOU! And hey, if you can get even more…go on and give me a call sometime, let’s do dinner! While it lasts!
