About this wine
He, DJ Khaled...what's that line again??? ANOTHER ONE! And...ANOTHER ONE! Shut. The. Front. Door! Y'all ROCK! And so does this! HERMITAGE BLANC! 95 POINTS! For half...HALF(!) what this wine normally sells at! This is an all-time coup, my friends! It has been FOREVER since we found a Hermitage Blanc that we could share – these wines account for such a TINY portion of an already MINISCULE appellation in the Northern Rhone...and most whites from here START in the triple digits, and climb faster than Maverick in Top Gun. HOW...just how do you evoke the beautiful essence of ripe white peaches, Asian pears, golden apples, Ruby Red grapefruits, plus honeysuckle, gunflint, kaffir lime, Tahitian vanilla, toasted hazelnuts, and lavender from grapes? How do you make it so utterly fantastic to drink? And HOW ON EARTH do WE scoop up a 95 POINT bottle of uber-delicious Hermitage greatness at 50% OFF?!?! It’s just...well, INCONCEIVABLE!! Seriously, this is wonderful, compelling, and utterly complex vinous perfection – shockingly good at this price, too! Huge aromatics and a rich creamy texture, but it's not heavy – it's crisp and pristinely balanced. Mostly Marsanne, with about 5% Roussanne to round things out. A touch of new oak gives it depth and spiciness to soften and integrate all the astounding fruits going on. Awesome. Can age a few years, like up to a decade plus too. We only wish we had more!
