About this wine
Dylan’s Ghost has officially vanished! Who’s ready for the glorious 2021 vintage of CHAIX Cabernet Sauvignon?!?! 93 POINTS! Monday NAPA CAB baby! Nothing gets our pulses thumping like a marching band drum line quite like this. Rutherford Dust Society is officially in session! The absolutely impeccable 2021 CHAIX is ready to ROCK your world! We’re strutting into this week with a flux capacitor boost of Delorean proportions – with over $75 OFF on a spectacular Rutherford Cab from the good people at CHAIX. This is a new-ish winery that has been selling grapes to many of Napa’s top wineries for decades. (If you’ve ever had Phelps’ $365 Insignia… you’ve tasted this fruit before!) A handful of years back, they started making a little Cabernet for themselves from the best lots in their estate vineyard in western Rutherford. With neighbors like Joseph Phelps, BV’s George de Latour, Inglenook, and Staglin, this practically perfect plot of land is in great company. The Maestro himself, André Tchelistcheff, once said, “It takes Rutherford Dust to grow great Cabernet Sauvignon” and as any of you who scored a bottle or twelve some months back knows…this is beyond GREAT! For UNDER $50?!?! This will mop the floor with plenty of $100+++ Napa Cabs, and still find time to bathe the kids and cook you dinner! This artisan producer doesn't much exist outside of this idyllic little hamlet of Napa Valley, and with only 450 cases made – we’re simply STOKED to get any!! So trust your Web-based Wine Merchant…and load up on this while we’ve got it! This reaches out of the glass and pulls you inward with seductive aromatics of violets, eucalyptus, and orange-zested chocolate truffles. Diving in, you’re immediately greeted with classic Rutherford notes of dusty black plums, with luscious crème de cassis, crushed blackberries, molten chocolate cake, and a juicy core of succulent black raspberries. Mineral sensations of graphite, with some earthy aspects of warm cedar and dried pine needles, give this an incredible complexity and balance, while the finish goes on endlessly. This is rocking stuff, that is absolutely worthy of the $125 winery price…but TODAY? With US? Let’s say UNDER $50 once more and just see how long this lasts…
