Côtes du Roussillon for da WIN!!! A stunning bottle that RARELY leaves Europe...in fact — we’re the ONLY spot in the USA to get it! All for way, way UNDER $25? Yes!!! Y’all know what a Cavalcade is, right? It’s a parade…on horseback — and that is just the sort of vibe this wine is bringing home! It’s celebratory, it’s regal, and dignified, with history, and a defined sense of importance, a little bit of wild, unruly stallion element — and, most importantly — you simply cannot help but stop in befuddled wonderment as it passes on by… Well…SNAP TO, good people! You do NOT want to let this little 95 POINT baddie pass you on by…and when it is priced as absurdly low as this…expect it to FLY!!! Half Syrah, then a quarter each Grenache and Mourvèdre…from a family that goes back TWENTY SEVEN generations of tending vines and making wines at this historic château — all the way back to 1485!!! Horses, vino, and a little bit of world-class organic olive oil are their specialties…and while I’ve yet to taste the olive oil, and I can’t imagine they would even consider letting me ride one of their ponies — this wine? It satisfies. Seriously satisfies. Côtes du Roussillon is the southernmost wine region of France, near the Spanish border, and nestled alongside the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a massive amphitheater of sunshine, created by the merger of three mountain ranges — The Corbières to the North, the Pyrénées to the West, and the Albères to the south — delivering a kaleidoscope of terroirs that can produce exceptional and long-lived wines...just…like…THIS! Jeb calls it “Les Aspres at its best” — and I’m ready to line up in that queue like it’s the world premier of Star Wars in 1977! These “arid lands” sit at the edge of the French Catalan region, where terraces of yellow and red clay enjoy warm days, cooling ocean breezes, and cold nights. The result is something spectacular — darkly roasted plums and blackberries, with smoky accents and plenty of spice, and this Northern Rhône-esque meaty-savoriness and playfully floral finish. It’s big, and beastly — yet oh-so smooth! Tastes like something you’d happily pay $75 plus for, if it were labeled in either the Rhône or California, but at our downright silly $22 price?! It SLAYS! My advice? Get some for drinking now, and a few for tucking away for another 7+ years. With 95 POINTS and these sorts of savings…you truly cannot have too much!!! While it lasts!
