About this wine
Three Bordeaux sell outs, thank you!......Let's keep it going!!! 97 POINT Vin d’Garage STUNNER! Château Gracia has returned to help kick off 2026 properly! The 2018 is singing – especially at our JAW-DROPPING 54% off!!! Let’s GOOOO!!! Château Gracia!!! Did you score the 2016? Then you already know. Missed out? Don’t make that mistake TWICE! One of the very first “GARAGISTE” wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank that forever shifted the balance of power in the Bordeaux Class system…and despite the absolute CULT status of this wine – we scored some for a CRAY-CRAY price! To have ANY of this is a miracle – but at a full $96 OFF??? Très incroyable!!! Remember Michel Gracia? A Saint-Émilion contractor and stone mason, who’s laid stone at properties like Angelus, Cheval Blanc, and Petrus…and now makes wines that rival (and some say surpass) them all! In 1994, after encouragement from Jean Luc Thunevin (ahem…another garagiste who launched all this craziness with Château Valandraud back in the early 90s), alongside his pal, Alain Vauthier of Ausone – Michel purchased just under 4 acres of prime vineyard next to Troplong Mondot. The rest, as they say, is history. Savvy Bordeaux collectors and wine lovers are known to sneak these in on the regular with FIRST GROWTH Châteaus in blind tastings – and then revel in the absolute PANDEMONIUM that erupts when these come out on top. After the absolute BLITZ we had in 2016, we begged our source for another parcel – and BOOM! Wish granted. The pricing is simply breathtaking – UNDER $80 for this is like finding out you’re actually the only son and heir to an eccentric billionaire with royal blood, who’s set to become the next King of Monaco. CaaaCHING!!! The 2018 is just breaking that Bordeaux barrier and stepping into its “let’s turn some heads” phase – and goodness gracious, Greta Garbo – this is now worthy of the silver screen! Silky and smooth aromas of kirsch, and crème de cassis, with brooding elements of roasted fennel, and fresh-poured asphalt, then baked plum tarts, and black cherry compote, with salty, savory roast beef, and flecks of iron and graphite, with this strong and heady finish of crushed violets, and dried rose, and a faint, sweet whisper of English toffee. Just like the 2016 – this is full-bodied, full-throttle Right Bank righteousness – and you won’t find it anywhere else at anywhere near this EPIC price! 97 POINTS and as cult-y collectible as EVER!!! While it lasts!
