About this wine
95 POINTS, people! One of the greatest white wines in this hemisphere — an utterly stunning Bordeaux Blanc take from one of Washington's most ICONIC wineries...all coming your way at a heart-stopping price! DeLille Cellars — you BEAUTY! Y’all Last Bottlers that know me best know I LOVE me some killer Bordeaux Blanc…especially when there’s a good hunk of waxy, honeyed Semillon tossed in the mix! Bone dry, gorgeously layered, with mind-bending aromatics, and the sort of mineral brightness that melts my cold heart like an ice cream cone in a Death Valley summer…YES!!! So when I tell you that this is the hands-down, tippy-top BEST American version of Bordeaux Blanc I have tasted in some time…welp, I hope you are HALF as excited as I am for this deal. I mean, UNDER $18?!?! Killer, killer stuff y’all. Just for fun, I pulled a comparison list of the world’s best Bordeaux Blancs and the prices you’d expect to pay here in the USA. Jeb Dunnuck ranked all of these: Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc 2023 – JD96 – $527 Château Cheval Blanc Le Petit Cheval Blanc 2023 – JD95 – $145 Domaine De Chevalier Blanc 2023 – JD96 – $96 Chateau de Fieuzal Blanc 2023 – JD95 – $62 And… DeLille Cellars Chaleur Blanc 2023 – JD94 and UNDER $18 Last Bottle Price! Don’t know ‘bout y’all — but I know which one I’m going for!!! (Ok, maybe one bottle of both the Chevalier and de Fieuzal, too…) But I’m getting AT LEAST a case of this baby! 69% Sauvignon Blanc and 31% Semillon is the magic mix here, with aging in 42% new French oak barrels for that creamy, spicy, roundness that makes this drop-dead SEXY! And the AROMAS!!! Gooseberries, and white sage, with honeysuckle, and peach blossoms, with chipped flint, and wet river stones, and nectarines — oh, MY!!! The first sip is steely and flooded with bright minerality, with a slow build of stone fruits — from Galaxy peaches, to white nectarines, and Rainier cherries — that slowly evolve into a more tropical vibe on the warm and spicy finish. I’m talking Champagne mangoes, and barely ripe papaya, with a hint of drool-inducing cantaloupe from the peak of summer…just…WOW! Take care not to serve this TOO cold — you need this closer to cellar temp to really get the fruit notes popping. (If you’re pulling this straight from the fridge, leave it on the counter for 30 minutes before diving in headfirst.) That intense minerality gets uplifted with a perfect infusion of lemon-lime zestiness and as EPIC as this is today…I can’t wait to check in on this 2, 5, 10, 15 YEARS from now! An ALL-TIME epic steal of a deal for Last Bottle white wines…and you don’t want to miss out, TRUST ME! DeLille was one of the very first wineries in Washington to nab Robert Parker’s “5-Star Excellence” ratings…and with 30 years crafting world-class wines under their belt — they haven’t skipped a beat! Top 100 lists, immeasurable critical acclaim, and a five-time placement on Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries of the World…if you don’t know DeLille Cellars…GET ON MY LEVEL!!! This is a 95 POINT wonder of a white, and we got it at the best price ANYWHERE. Whatever are you still doing here?!?! Go, go, GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
