About this wine
95 POINTS!!! Over 76% OFF! Edge Hill’s Abel 1833 Cab Blend just cracked the short list for the BEST Edge Hill I’ve tasted yet…if only we had more to share! Luckily, for you, for me, for all of us… there’s a BIT more of this 2012 to share around…like a couple hundred. But we’ve got Marathoners on lookout from San Diego to Limestone, Maine — so that’s not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but we’ll do our part…and now the chance is yours! 2012 is a legendary Napa vintage — and I would add, the PERFECT year to have a little elevation in your vineyard. This site, at over 1,600 feet above sea level on the slopes of Mt. Veeder, has it all — soil, climate, exposure, and elevation. That ensures that a full FOURTEEN YEARS later, this soft and plush beauty has just the sort of structure and power needed to hold its head high. This succeeds on all fronts — the perfect example of a wine drinking in its absolute prime window. It’s beefy (the review even mentions “Bovril” — a yeast/beef extract — and the ONLY time I’ve ever seen that used anywhere to describe a wine!) but there’s plenty of violets and rose petals, then black cherries and assorted bramble berry fruits, and a medley of spices, and exotic black truffles, and a gorgeous minerality that uplifts everything into a decadently long and silky finish. OVER $190 less than the winery price means this stash is already dwindling…speak up now for yours or risk missing out forever! 95 POINTS, people! All Marathon orders will be combined and shipped from our West Coast warehouse. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to reach all states. Additional Qs? Check out our FAQs and this handy Marathon page!
