About this wine
Ok, did I save the best for last? Maybe. I mean, the white was the true revelation for me today, and that’s LONG gone, but the 2014 Abel 1833 Red really captured my heart. (Pro tip: if I ever compare a wine to Audrey Hepburn…I’m in love.) But ETCHED MAGNUMS?! Be still, my heart!!! Nineteen. That is exactly how many we have. (Yes, we started with 20, but I begged and pleaded to be able to buy one for my collection…sorry, not sorry.) So of the few that are left…are you fast enough to grab one? At an unfathomable $380 LESS than winery retail? And we didn’t even really factor the whole “ETCHED” part into that equation, so likely even greater savings? I mean…who could resist? Clearly not me. Soft, seductive, and chocolate-y, with a delicate red fruit note that goes from cherries, to raspberries, to almost tropical sensations of dragonfruit. It’s beautifully balanced with impressive brightness, and a cooling limestone and slate minerality that really extends the finish. I’ll say it again…this beauty is understated elegance — not shy by any means, and with plenty of structure and strength — just arranged in a regal and stately way. I already invoked the spirit of Audrey Hepburn's Princess Ann of Coravia from Roman Holiday back when we dropped the 750s — but for the Etched Magnum…it’s an even better fit! Get one of these, and start tallying up your Spring Marathon total with childlike glee. And stick a fork in me, ‘cause I…am…DONE! Last Edge Hill of the day…go, go, gooooooooooo! All Marathon orders will be combined and shipped from our West Coast warehouse. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to reach all states. Additional Qs? Check out our FAQs and this handy Marathon page !
