About this wine
Wine Spectator called this a “brooding bruiser” and, well…they are basically DEAD ON with that. But 9 years have been kind to this particular bruiser — and based on this morning’s bottle…it’s really entering that peak “Rocky 4” American hero phase in its journey! Word is spreading like wildfire, folks…EDGE HILL DAY is abuzz across the interwebs, and wines are flying off the site with neck-snapping speed! The inventory on the remaining wines creeps ever lower and lower, so expect the speed to pick up exponentially! As such (and since I’ve been doing this Marathon madness until my fingertips bleed and my eyelids dry out), I’ll attempt to be brief! Onto the wine! This beast is both saturated and brooding, with dark chocolate and baked strawberries, then sweet red cherries, ripe raspberries, and this juicy, nutty character like a really, really good fruitcake (does that even exist?!) Welp, it does here — perfectly balanced with tart notes of orange peel, and lightly-rum-soaked golden raisins, with dusty white pepper, and spicy hot cinnamon candies. This is SCREAMING for saucy, Kansas City style BBQ…and now I’m googling to see if I can ship out Arthur Bryant’s via the Belly App. If you like full-throttle, spice-driven, and no-holds-barred reds…this Mixed Blacks is right up your alley. And at a full 74% OFF, and UNDER $40 a bottle…give in to that devil whispering in your ear…grab two, or three, or MORE while we got ‘em! More to come! All Marathon orders will be combined and shipped from our West Coast warehouse. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to reach all states. Additional Qs? Check out our FAQs and this handy Marathon page !
