About this wine
93 POINTS and the best price ANYWHERE on the coolest white wine in Carneros! And the price is lower than EVER! We heard ya, and we journeyed the full FIVE MILES down the road to the winery and loaded up the van with even more of this delectable juice…just in time for all your spring and summer celebrations. ETUDE IS BACK, good people! I’m swooning, people, like that time I was delirious with fever on the couch and my golden retriever pup came and rested her angelic little head across my heart…SWOONING, I tell you! 93 POINTS, best price on this planet (we broke the UNDER $20 mark last go ‘round…but THIS????). Wow. I’m talking about a STRAIGHT FIRE classic Cali-White that you will be slapping down on your dinner tables, and Sunday porch evenings, Tuesday taco nights, and, well…basically ALL…THE…TIME!!! For UNDER $15?!?! Stop it. Founded in 1982 by the legendary Tony Soter (he has also consulted for the likes of Dalla Valle, Spottswoode, Shafer, Araujo, Viader, and so many more rock stars), Etude is a classic for rock-solid, delicious wines, and, when you are hip to Last Bottle, occasionally, face-meltingly priced PINOT GRIS — like today. Made in a perfectly balanced, fresh, BONE DRY, and zippy style (as opposed to really rich and sweet with that overpowering Grandma’s perfume aspect you find in lesser Pinot Gris). This is coming from their Grace Benoist Ranch vineyard in cool Carneros, close to the Napa River, and fully socked in by that freshness-preserving, aromatic-accentuating morning fog that crawls in from the San Francisco Bay. It CRUSHES — and at our crazy price — you better fly! No need to wait on this — slap a bottle in the freezer the second your package lands — then pop and pour yourself a glass of alluring jasmine and honeysuckle, with these flinty/minerally sensations that burst across the tongue, followed by notes of creamy Bartlett pears, some succulent white peach, and this tingly array of cool citrus florals and zestiness. DANG! Round but racy, and just sooooo easy to drain your glass in no time at all! Don’t sleep on this 93 POINT bottle of sheer delight, my friends. Will go fast...while it lasts!
