About this wine
Boo-yeah! Two…yes, TWO Chards down already. And now? We’re hopping up to Willamette, damnit! Yay, yay, yay…KILLER Chardonnay! ONLY $15?!?! Let’s do this! Willamette might be best known for Pinot Noir – but if you haven’t tried their white wines…boy howdy, you are MISSING OUT! Arguably some of the best Chardonnays this side of Burgundy, and with that cool-climate, slow-ripening complexity that simply cannot be beat!!! A low, low alcohol of just 12.7%, and the sort of zip, zing, and mouth-salivating intensity reserved for the coolest vineyards in the Chardonnay world. But don’t get me wrong – there’s plenty of weighty, mouth-coating creaminess, too – fermented in large puncheons of French oak, and aged on the lees for that textural silkiness…this little engine that could has a little bit of everything – and just WAY more complex than a $15 BOTTLE has any right to be!!! Load up for winter, and maybe keep a bottle tucked away for that first proper day of spring – and thank me later! While it lasts!
