About this wine
(Clutches my heart) LUNA! BUBBLES! What madness is this? Prosecco...as in Italy, folks. That’s right, Luna has gone global, bringing Italy back here to the States in a bubbly, delightful, and deliciously sparkling concoction of sheer and uncontainable JOY! Nearly 50% off! UNDER $15! Look out, Mom and Dad, ‘cause we’re printing the flyers, tapping the keg, and throwing a full-blown house party today at Last Bottle HQ. Huzzah! Oh, by the way...ever heard of a little Italian wine named Sassicaia (first Italian wine to get 100 points from Robert Parker, and widely considered the greatest wine in Italy today)? Welp, meet Graziana Grassini. She’s the revered oenologist at Sassicaia, plus a whole slew of other top brands...and...wait for it...she also makes THIS WINE! If it seems too good to be true, we get it, truly. So we triple-checked and then checked again. She made this. Period. Sustainably farmed glera grapes, no spraying of pesticides, and they even use frogs...yes, FROGS for pest control in the vineyard (that’s a new one for us too)! ONLY THIRTEEN DOLLARS!!! All of this is just so surreal...it’s like something from a fever dream...but in the best damn possible way! Oh, the wine, you ask? Beautiful bubbles, a thick and stable mousse that bursts and rolls in the glass – every spent bubble delivering delirium-inducing aromas of white flowers – honeysuckle, jasmine, peonies, alyssum...like an ambrosial perfume of some ancient deity. And then...then! An explosion of fruits – green apple, apricot, tangerine, golden plums, crisp pears… oh me, oh my! INTOXICATING! A finishing touch of heavy cream, and honeyed almonds – the gentlest kiss of sweetness that is never cloying or forthcoming...just, perfect. We worked with Graziana specifically to create a Prosecco with a Brut dosage level (and nearly Extra Brut) that would more closely match the dryness of top-flight Champagne (right around 6 g/l as opposed to more typical Prosecco levels that hover between 10 and 14 g/l.) Done and done! As dry as a Prosecco as you'll find, with all the rich, fruity, floral character, yet none of the sticky, gooey sweetness that leaves you hating life the morning after. You're welcome. How is this only $13?!? New house bubbles, for sure! Get a lot...this is a Luna deal for the ages...and you long-time Last Bottlers know just how many deals we’ve crushed over the years with Luna! Do. Not. Miss! Did you see that price?
