Massimo Rivetti Froi Barbaresco 2021
Piedmont · Barbaresco · Nebbiolo · red
About this wine
Sell-out alert!!! Here's another wine to get your attention from Italy!!! You asked, and we DELIVERED! High-scoring Barbaresco for under $35 is ALWAYS a no-brainer to use – and there is simply no better time to grab this lovely, DOUBLE 93 POINT Piemontese phenom! Rivetti’s FROI is back!!! It’s been a few years since we had enough of this sensational Barbaresco to go out as an offer – but oh, BABY…was it ever worth the wait!!! The Rivettis are some of our favorite folks in Piemonte to visit – the wines are ALWAYS jaw-droppingly stellar, the food (somehow) might be even better, and the tour of the vineyards and winery is both comforting and illuminating! “Froi” is the name for the vineyards surrounding their central farmhouse on the sacred hill of Serraboella – one of the top sites for simply LIGHTS OUT good Nebbiolo. You could call this their flagship, and the pinnacle of their remarkable organic and biodynamic portfolio – but I’m just gonna call it as I see it…WOWZA! The floral elegance! The violets, and roses, and camphor, with this swirling vortex of Tahitian vanilla, and the onrush of cherries, and plums, and all manner of summer berries that follows! It’s structured and powerfully layered, with the graphite grip of Nebbiolo tannins that promise this is going to impress for another 15+ years to come! We desperately try to get more and more of this every single year – but there just never seems to be enough! World-class Barbaresco at an UNDER $35 price is my JAM literally ANYTIME we can manage it – but I’m secretly terrified that new tariff threats mean we won’t keep this well full and flowing for the year to come…so I’m snagging a case just to be certain! I mean, when you are the ONLY folks to have this in the entire US of A…and…AND…you’ve got it at the world’s BEST price – you’ve simply gotta strut, no? Grab what you can…this DOUBLE 93 POINTER isn’t long for the world! Let’s keep this ROLLING!!!
