One of the Napa Valley’s ORIGINAL Cult Cabs…ready to make your Halloween feel like Christmas has come early! This is the stuff of LEGEND! Here’s how it is going to go down, y’all…you KNOW this wine. You certainly know this producer. If 100 people made a list of the top 10, most all-time legendary, most historic, consistent, ground-breaking, taste-making Napa Cabs ever – this would make the list on 99.999% of those. They’re swaddled in reputation and brand and tons of gushing critical acclaim, deservedly so, and often. The critics have called this newest release “fascinating”, “outstanding”, “very fine and polished”, and even…“the star of the show”!!! Now, obviously, I can’t TELL YOU what this is (that’s how we worked out the EPIC deal with the winery) – but hey, I got some winery-approved hints that will guide you, studious, passionate, and wine-loving, living, and breathing people straight to the promised land! Let’s get after it, shall we? Some hints: - This is a single-vineyard bottling, from two ranches on a vineyard in Western Rutherford – this historic vineyard was planted in the early 1900s, by the same gentleman the vineyard is named for… - The winery has been pumping out the best juice for over a century…and yet, this wine was crafted by only their fifth ever winemaker! One of those five is perhaps the most famous, most revered winemakers in Napa Valley’s history! - It was this legendary winemaker who insisted on bottling the first iteration of this cuvee – taken from the private stores of the family that owned the winery. - For you art buffs out there – the wine may be named for the founder of the winery, yet he shared his name with a famed French Baroque painter…known for his religious chiaroscuro scenes lit by candlelight. - This bottling is made in an entirely separate winery from the rest of the portfolio – custom crafted to extract the very, very best from such hallowed ground. Whoa! - The PRICE!?!? Oh my…this is a doozy! Best price in the country on this…by a ways! Yes!!! But Last Bottle Guy…what’s it like? Glad you asked! So mouthcoating and generous right out of the bottle…staying power for a decade, sure – but when you’re shining on like this crazy diamond – you’ll wish you were here for a glass sooner than later! Crazy rich, supremely luscious, with chocolate-y goodness oozing like a well-baked lava cake! There's this fine, powdery, one might even say DUSTY character to these structure-building tannins, but just absolutely PACKED with black cherry and kirsch, and blackberry pie, with a kiss of vanilla, and cocoa powder, with some serious spice! Cinnamon, and clove, with cigar box, too – all tightly jammed into this seductive and entrancing bottle of dark and BOLD goodness! If you scored the 2018 we offered up some ways back – you know this is that BIG NAME behemoth that absolutely, positively lives up to all the hype! From the first vintage in 1936 until now…we are talking about being in the presence of an all-time LEGEND!!! While it lasts, at least!!!
