About this wine
And another one’s gone, another one’s gone, another one bites the dust! Woooh! Freddie Mercury would be proud, darlings! For those of you just tuning in…man, have you ever missed out! We’ve spent the first bit of the day up on Spring Mountain, where this iconic producer has hung its hat since the early 80s. Blends — particularly those made from Bordeaux varietals are their specialty, and whether it is the estate, vintage bottled FLAGSHIP, or their incredibly valued, Champagne-style non-vintage blend — these are some of the most sought-after, delectably unique bottles in Napa Valley. But here? Now? We’re mixing things up a bit! In the aftermath of 2020’s devastation, the winery expanded its scope to neighboring regions and made a delectable red that paid homage to the south of France, even dipping a toe all the way into Spain. This sumptuous, bubbly bright, and simple resplendent wine was the happy result — based in 48% Grenache, 27% Mourvedre, and 25% Tempranillo. Mostly Sonoma fruit, with a dash of some old vine goodness from way up in Amador, this is EVERYTHING you want to drink, all spring and summer long! Juicy, peppery, fruity, and tremendously crowd-pleasing…I’m making this my staple for Backyard BBQs, Bocce league libations, and post-yard work pick-me-ups. The ripe strawberries, and white pepper, with dragonfruit, and Rainier cherries, with a dash of milk chocolate, and a flourish of candied violets?! So good!!! I mean…ONLY TWELVE DOLLARS?!?! C’mon! We’re practically giving it away! Next best price on the entire PLANET is $30…and we got it for a full 60% LESS! Who could possibly say no to that?! Better fly, though…even less of this to go around!!! More to come! All Marathon orders will be combined and shipped from our West Coast warehouse. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to reach all states. Additional Qs? Check out our FAQs and this handy Marathon page!
