About this wine
Last MYSTERY for the day! With a brain-addling 64% OFF the winery price, and a price tag of just $18 — THIS is how you go out with a resounding BANG on this epic MYSTERY SATURDAY! We’re dipping back into that Champagne-style, non-vintage territory with this 100% Napa Valley gem, blending 60% and 40% respectively from the famed 2012 and 2013 vintages! The winery called it their “biggest” and “most dramatic” of this bottling to date — and I gotta say...they are spot on! It roars out the glass like a beautifully rustic and old-school Right Bank Bordeaux...something in the mold of mid-80s Château Trotanoy perhaps. That’s a good thing in my book — the wild, savory, and mineral nature of the wine is given the chance to shine, alongside the inevitably plush fruit character that is the hallmark of both vintages. Strawberries and mulberries, high-toned floral notes of peonies and roses, with minty freshness, sun-dried hay, and soft, well-worn leather. It’s rich and mouth-coating, with a spicy, soul-warming finish that enters the chest like hot herbal tea, with a swizzler of cinnamon. This might be the more “approachable” wine in the portfolio — but make no mistake — this isn’t just alive and kicking thirteen years later…this is just picking up speed! A stunning deal even at the full winery retail of $50 a bottle…but when you can score it for just EIGHTEEN DOLLARS…welcome to NO BRAINER territory! Grab a bunch…’cause you’ll be wanting plenty to share over these next several years! While it lasts! All Marathon orders will be combined and shipped from our West Coast warehouse. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to reach all states. Additional Qs? Check out our FAQs and this handy Marathon page!
