I know some of y'all are bummed to miss out on that RUDIUS Diamond Mountain Cab. Luckily, I got a sweet proposition for all of the many, many Cabernet Sauvignon lovers out there in the Last Bottle Universe. So here it goes: 1st ever bottling, boasting a solid 93 POINT score, with a full 70% SLASHED off the winery retail, from a fully-pedigreed 2nd generation of some big-time Sonoma grapegrowers — and your buy-in is a paltry $22…TWENTY TWO DOLLARS! If your heart didn’t just skip a beat, it is time to see a cardiologist, my friends…’cause this Solar Ash Cab is the real deal! This is a Taylor Swift, Fab Four, Led Zeppelin 1 worthy debut…absolutely JAMMING with rich and deep berry liqueur, and ripe black currants, with cherry compote, and sticky tar, uplifted with chocolate truffles, and roasted herbs, some fresh mission figs, and even a bit of mint and menthol for good measure. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, all from The Bavarian Lion vineyard that sits across from Peter Michael, tucked just under the shadow of Mount Saint Helena, and not two miles from the Napa border. And…IT ROCKS! Decanter called it “full-bodied and effortlessly quaffable”...and yep, I see no lies there. The bottle on my desk disappeared in about 3 minutes flat — thanks to some colleagues who, like me, can't wait to get a jump on the weekend. The rolling hills and warm, volcanic soils of Knights Valley (arguably the BEST spot in Sonoma for Cabernet Sauvignon) grant this a depth and unctuousness that is more reminiscent of Napa than your typical Sonoma Cab — but when it comes to the PRICE??? That’s a deal that’s rare even in Sonoma! Over 70% OFF?! I’ll line up for this like 3-day Bottle Rock VIP tickets — I mean, who's ready for that line-up?! Anywho…this is a wine to score again and again and in great store…’cause who knows if we’ll ever get this chance again! Not as much left as we’d like, and sure to FLY! ** I swear to everything holy, if they cut the lights and sound on Foo Fighters, right in the crux of “Everlong” again...I am done with Bottle Rock.
