BRUNELLO! Oh baby, where have you BEEN?!! We never get enough (esp. at prices like this!!), and today we have a ROCKING, utterly screaming-delicious 95-POINTER from the brilliant Tassi Winery in the heart of Montalcino. Over 40% OFF? This is one of the GREATS! ** Fair warning...we barely have enough of this beauty and we don’t always get access to this marvelous wine – so grab more than you think, obvi – it might be a couple of years before we get more! ** There is a wine shop inside the fortress at the top of Montalcino. Built in 1361 (*mind*blown*), Fabio Tassi runs it (along with a couple killer restaurants across the street), on top of his vintner duties – this man is PASSIONATE about Brunello, trust us. And his wines are stupendously delicious – rich in style, perfumey and intense, with good weight and terrific personality (yes, wines have personalities!). There’s tons of mouth-filling texture and spice, with whiffs of toasty vanilla, black plums, red cherries, rooibos tea, and deeply inky and ripe blackberries. Drink this now if you want, but it will only get better over the next 5-7 years or so! We are HUGE fans and totally STOKED to have some to sell! Brunello! 95 points! HUZZAH! The family’s “Vigna Franci” vineyard is where this sangiovese is grown – from right on the slopes beneath the ancient castle of Velona – and WOW is this good! Single vineyard, organically farmed Brunello is rare enough...but with 95 POINTS and over 40% OFF? Unreal. We’ve said it before but this might be the greatest “regular” Brunello out there. Their top stuff is FAR more pricey but for sheer quality and value – this can’t be beat! While it lasts!
