About this wine
UNDER $13!!! In this day and age?! That never fails to fire the synapses in my cerebral cortex…especially with a solid 92 POINT score, and a locally-backed, fierce & fearsome following of die-hard Trattore Farms enthusiasts. I first tasted this at my ALL-TIME favorite Sonoma restaurant – Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria up in the little one-street town of Geyserville, not far from the winery itself. Some friends who are long-time wine club super-fans of Trattore Farms brought the bottle – and between the Chop Salad, Mediterranean Octopus, and (this is a must) the iconic Sonja pizza…the only thing missing was another two bottles! It was a FEAST…and the vino made it all the better. Bright cherries, and blackberries, with red currants, and chocolate-hazelnut truffles, with some summer strawberries, a dash of white pepper, and some well-lathered saddle leather and cedar spice – this is EVERYTHING anyone could want in a pop-n-pour Dry Creek red blend – especially at such a jaw-dropping price! Trattore Farms specializes in all things Rhône – and for this little ditty, we have Zinfandel teaming up brilliantly with Grenache and Mourvèdre. The grapes thrive here in Dry Creek – the warmest and (duh) driest part of Sonoma. Normally $35 at the winery – and still an absolute STEAL at that price – but I am stark-raving and slobbering to LOAD UP on this for one utterly cray-cray UNDER $13 price. That’s OVER 65% OFF, my friends…and when you can have a six-pack signed, sealed, and delivered for just SEVENTY-TWO big ones…you better fly! While it lasts!
